The Farmer Chef Connection

Who? Farmers and Chefs from SE Wisconsin

What? 3rd Annual Farmer Chef Connection

When? Monday, October 22nd from 12:30-5:00 pm

Where? Waukesha County Technical College

Why? To reconnect those who grow the food with those who prepare and present it

The Farmer Chef Connection program provides a forum that focuses on bringing the local food producer and the professional foodservice community together.

"We're helping provide the ideas needed to rebuild effective farmer chef relationships, incorporate local food onto local menus, and promote a new local food system," says Deb Deacon, the coordinator for the Southeast Wisconsin Farm and Food Network.

These goals are mutually beneficial for both parties! It provides greater exposure and sales for the farmers while providing fresh, nutrient-rich foods that more health-conscious consumers are increasingly demanding. This will generate more sales for the foodservice provider, too.

Everyone wins!

I'm not a local food producer nor am I a part of the professional foodservice community, but I'm very excited about attending this conference.

It will be an opportunity for me to meet more of the local food producers whom I hope to showcase in future posts, sample more of their great products, and expand my understanding of this whole new concept (for me, anyway) of the Farmer Chef Connection.

More details can be found on this downloadable brochure.

When I first started this blog, I never dreamed that I would have such a great time networking with so many fantastic people!
